The Center for Global Communications, International University of Japan (hereinafter referred to as “GLOCOM”) complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations when handling personal information, and has set the following privacy policy as it works to appropriately handle personal information.
GLOCOM acquires information that is voluntarily supplied by related parties and service users within the scope necessary when providing various services. When acquiring personal information, the purpose is clarified and received based on the intentions of providers as a general rule.
GLOCOM appropriately uses the personal information acquired within the scope of the purpose notified in advance. The consent of the individual involved is acquired when using personal information beyond the scope of the purpose of use. In addition, personal information will not be provided to third parties without gaining the consent of the individual, excluding cases in which the requirements recognized in law are fulfilled, including entrusting.
GLOCOM will work towards the safe management of the personal information acquired within the scope required for achieving the purpose of use, and take appropriate measures to prevent the loss, forgery, destruction, leakage, etc. of personal information. However, information already disclosed by the providers of personal information is outside the scope of GLOCOM management.
If a request is received from a provider of personal information regarding the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or elimination of the personal information of that individual, after confirming the identity of the individual, it will be responded to appropriately in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
The handling of personal information in the website handled by GLOCOM (hereinafter referred to as “website”) is pursuant to this privacy policy excluding the following items.
Personal information such as name, email address, and affiliation may be acquired through the website for the purpose of delivering information on seminars, etc. held by GLOCOM. In addition, information related to access may be acquired for the creation of various statistics information related to the use of the website.
GLOCOM will not be liable if information that could infringe on the privacy of an individual or identify an individual is posted on a website not under the supervision of GLOCOM that is linked to from the website.
The editor will be responsible for the protection of personal information for information that is posted on the website.
This privacy policy is subject to revisions by GLOCOM without warning due to changes in the law or other reasons. GLOCOM will constantly apply the latest privacy policy on the personal information acquired. Note that the revised privacy policy will come into force when it is posted on the website, excluding cases separately stipulated by GLOCOM.
