My area of expertise is information law, especially privacy rights and personal information protection law. I am interested in privacy issues caused by advanced information technologies, such as IoT, AI, Biometrics, Big Data Analysis, and so on. I want to collaborate with various kinds of scholars who study information technology, information economics, information society, information ethics and many other areas.

Brief History

I graduated from the faculty of law at Keio University, and completed the Master’s and Doctoral program of the graduate school of law at Keio University as well as the Doctoral program of the graduate school of information security at Institute of Information Security. After working as a full-time lecturer and an associate professor at Tokyo University of Technology, I am currently a professor at Tokyo University of Technology. I have served as a part-time lecturer at Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus, as a chairperson and member of governmental committees including those of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and as a director of the Information Network Law Association. Currently, I am a member of ISO/IEC JTC1 SC27/WG5.
