{"id":188,"date":"2021-08-26T18:12:20","date_gmt":"2021-08-26T09:12:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glocom.ac.jp\/en\/?post_type=researcher&#038;p=188"},"modified":"2021-09-13T16:38:23","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T07:38:23","slug":"soichiro-takagi","status":"publish","type":"researcher","link":"https:\/\/www.glocom.ac.jp\/en\/researcher\/188","title":{"rendered":"Soichiro Takagi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"fellow_profile\">I am working on clarifying the direction of corporate management strategies and policies by analyzing how information technology (IT) affects the economy and social systems.<br \/>\nInformation technology, which is constantly evolving, is creating a variety of services and business forms, from crowdsourcing to the sharing economy to blockchain and virtual currencies.<br \/>\nBy identifying the dynamics of technology and economics behind these new services, I would like to clarify how companies should deal with technological innovation and how governments should respond from a medium- to long-term perspective, and propose solutions.\n<\/p>\n<h2>Brief History<\/h2>\n<p class=\"fellow_brief\">Soichiro Takagi is an associate professor at the University of Tokyo\u2019s Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies and a fellow at the University of Tokyo\u2019s Art Center. He is also a senior researcher at the Center for Global Communications (GLOCOM), International University of Japan. He has worked at NTT Data Corporation, the Institute of Systems Science of NTT Data Corporation, and the International University of Japan GLOCOM as Professor \/ Director of Research \/ Senior Researcher before assuming his current position in 2019. He has served as a representative of GLOCOM Blockchain Economics Research Lab at International University of Japan, Asia Program Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and visiting fellow at Keio Research Institute at SFC, Keio University. He specializes in information economics and digital economy. His research focuses on the impact of the diffusion and development of information technology on society, mainly from the perspective of economics. His major publications include \u201cDeframing Strategy: Principles of the Digital Economy in the After-Platform Era\u201d (Shoei-sha), \u201cBlockchain Economics: A New Form of Economy through Decentralization and Automation\u201d (Shoei-sha), and \u201cMethodology for Re-learning: How to Go from Working to Graduate School\u201d (Impress R&#038;D). He received the \u201cEmerging Research Award\u201d from the Japan Society for Socio-Information Studies in 2015 and the KDDI Foundation Award from the KDDI Foundation in 2019.
